Aetna UCR Litigation Settlement: Claim & Dates Detailed

The purpose of the insurance company is to provide a safeguard to its employees from the risk. But what if they are the only one involved in all wrong doings in order to earn more monetary benefits? Before committing such a crime, they must learn one thing that today’s customers are really aware of their rights. One such case came into limelight where according to plaintiff, Aetna paid too little compensation amount with the use of faulty database and other false methods. The case was filed against the third-largest U.S. health insurer, Aetna Inc. Both doctors and patients came together to file a case. However, Aetna disagreed with all the allegations, but they agreed over the settlement and ready to pay $120 million for settlement.

Aetna UCR Litigation Settlement

Following are the people who are eligible for compensation:

A Subscriber is eligible for compensation. In terms of Aetna class action settlement, a subscriber is a plan member who received a covered services or supply from an out-of-network health care provider from March 1, 2001 - Aug. 30, 2013.


A provider is eligible for compensation. In terms of Aetna class action settlement, provider is an out-of-network health care provider from June 3, 2003 - Aug. 30, 2013. Provider offers supplies or covered services to Aetna.

Following are the options for Subscribers:

Simplified Claim Form for Subscribers: one option with the subscriber is that while filling up the registration form you need to select option 1 and with that you need to provide certain information about yourself. If you select this information, then you are eligible for the payment.

Claim for Subscribers: second option you have is to claim for subscribers. Under this option, if you paid to your Provider some portion of a Balance Bill for Partially Allowed Claims for Covered Out-of-Network Services or Supplies, then you are eligible for claim compensation.

Following are the options for Providers:

Simplified Claim Form for Providers: the first option you have with you as a provider is to complete the Provider Claim Form by requesting for Option. In this, you also need to provide certain information. After selecting this option, you will be eligible for compensation.

Claim for Providers: the second option you have is to claim for providers. In this option, you are only eligible for payment if you have acknowledged an Assignment from an Aetna Plan Member, and sent the Aetna Plan Member a Balance Bill for Partially Allowed Claims but not received full payment of such bill. After selecting this option, you will be eligible to get up to 5% of the Allowed Amount for every valid Partially Allowed Claim with the required Supporting Documentation.

All the eligible people can get the claim form from www.AetnaUcrSettlement.com, and mail it to Aetna UCR Litigation, c/o Berdon Claims Administration LLC, P.O. Box 15000, Jericho, NY 11853-0001.

Your legal rights and options:

Submit a claim form:
If you are eligible for claim, then you can file a claim online. You will get compensation only, if you had filed the claim form. Your form should be postmarked no later than March 28, 2014.

Ask to be excluded:
If you don’t want to get involved in a settlement and want to exclude yourself, then it is very easy - just write a letter. In this letter, you need to mention why you want to exclude yourself and your letter should not be postmarked later than February 26, 2014.

Object:
If you are not happy with the settlement and have some objection, then you can easily raise an objection. For this, you must write to the Court what you not like in the settlement. Your objection letter should not be postmarked later than February 26, 2014.

Go to a Hearing:
The final hearing of the court will take place on March 18, 2014, and if you wish to attend the hearing you can do so at your own expenses.

Do nothing:
By doing nothing, you will not get any payment from settlement.
