After that, seven other consumer class action lawsuits have been filed in a number of states throughout the country. The company has installed plastic coolant tubes instead of aluminum tubes. The plastic coolant tubes prematurely degrade and crack which causes coolant fluid to seep out directly into the vehicle's starter and seals, leading to significant engine damage and failure.

As part of a class action settlement agreement, Porsche has to issue a recall for all Cayenne vehicles with the V8 or V8 Turbo engine and fix the problem by replacing them with aluminum tubes. The company has to pay between $100 and $1,800 for past and future coolant pipe repairs to all affected Porsche Cayenne owners. There are around 42,000 current and former U.S. owners of a 2003 to 2006 Porsche Cayenne vehicle.
The payment amount will be decided according to the claim (a past or future repair payment) and a percentage of the invoice price paid at the time of repair or replacement.
