U.S. residents who have installed a Lennox Air Conditioning or Heat Pump System could get benefits from the Lennox White Coil Settlement. Lennox Industries Inc. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit over defective white coil by paying compensation to class members. To get benefits from Lennox White Coil Settlement, you must own residential property in Florida and have an eligible Lennox-brand air conditioning or heat pump system that includes a defective white coil.
Plaintiffs filed a class action lawsuit against Lennox claiming that the company used defective condenser coil manufactured between 2005 and 2007 in certain Lennox's air conditioning and heat pump systems. The condenser coil were made using aluminum and coated with polyester in place of epoxy/acrylic without the company’s knowledge. As a result, it corrodes and turns white prematurely. Lennox refuses these claims but agreed for settlement to avoid risk and expenses.
You can check your Lennox-brand air conditioning or heat pump system whether they are eligible or not. The eligible system includes a serial and model number that can be found on the nameplate or sticker, located near the service panel. The list of qualifying Lennox system’s models and serial numbers is available at lennoxcoilsettlement.com.
Class members have to submit a claim form before March 27, 2015 to get replacement of coil or reimbursement for repairs. The claim form can be submitted along with necessary documentation online at LennoxCoilSettlement.com or via mail to: Lennox White Coil Settlement, P.O. Box 1961, Faribault, MN 55021-5157.
Once the Court grants final approval to the Settlement, the class members will get their benefits. Class Members will receive reimbursement or free replacement of the white coil. If you have already paid for repairs, then you will get repayment of that and if you haven’t replaced or had repairs, then you will get a free replacement of the white coil.
