Intel Pentium 4 Litigation Settlement

Intel Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. have agreed to settle more than a decade-long class action lawsuit. United States residents (excluding Illinois) who purchased a computer with a Pentium 4 processor for personal, family, or household use are eligible to get cash benefits from the Intel Pentium 4 Litigation Settlement. Intel Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. (defendants) deny any wrongdoing but ready to end the lawsuit for avoiding expense.

Plaintiffs filed a class action lawsuit against defendants claiming that Intel manipulated the performance benchmark scores for its Pentium 4 processors and thus violated the California’s Unfair Competition Law. Plaintiffs also alleged that HP helped and supported this unlawful conduct.
Class members of the settlement include people who bought a new computer with a Pentium 4 processor between November 20, 2000 and December 31, 2001 and people who bought a new computer with a first-generation (Willamette) Pentium 4 processor or a Pentium 4 processor at speeds below 2.0 GHz between January 1, 2002 and June 30, 2002.

Class members have to submit a claim form before April 14, 2015 for getting compensation from the Intel Pentium 4 Litigation Settlement. Each eligible Class Members will get $15 cash reimbursement from the Intel Pentium 4 Litigation Settlement. Defendants will also make $4 million donation to non-profit entities for educational uses.
