Bill Me Later Inc. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged Bill Me Later and its agents violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by making automated or prerecorded telephone calls to consumers who did not give consent to receive such phone calls. The TCPA doesn’t allow companies to use automated telephone dialing systems or prerecorded voices to call consumers without their prior express consent. Disobediences of the TCPA have to pay a fine of $500 per phone call.

This class action lawsuit relates just to those calls that were made between June 15, 2008 and July 24, 2014 to either a cellular phone with an automatic telephone dialing system, or a cellular or landline phone with an artificial or prerecorded voice. If you were contacted on your cell phone by or on behalf of Bill Me Later, you may be entitled to receive cash from the class action settlement. Bill Me Later has not admitted any wrongdoing, however agreed to pay $9.9 million to settle the TCPA class action lawsuit and to keep away from the cost, risk and delay of trial.

As a proof, class members have to give the phone number that they received by Bill Me Later without their consent. Class members, who submit a valid claim form on or before December 11, 2014 on the website AutoPhoneCallsSettlement.com, can receive up to a maximum of $500 per claimant. The actual amount could be higher or lower based on the number of valid claim forms submitted.
