Transpacific Airline Settlement over price-fixing

Claim Transpacific Airline Antitrust Class Action Settlement on AirlineSettlement.com as 8 out of 13 airlines has settled a class-action lawsuit over price-fixing.

8 out of 13 airlines have agreed to settle a class action lawsuit over price-fixing of trans-Pacific fares by paying $39,502,000 as compensation. The class action lawsuit is still running against the five Non-Settling airlines. A total of 27 airlines across all three major alliances are included in the Transpacific Airline Antitrust Class Action Settlement.

Who are eligible Members of Transpacific Airline Settlement?

Those who purchased atleast one Airline Ticket between the U.S. and Asia/Oceania during the time period of January 1, 2000 to the effective date of the settlement.

Governmental entities; officers, directors, employees/ defendants in the lawsuits and people who bought tickets of Korean Air Lines, Ltd. and/or Asiana Airlines, Inc. between the U.S. and the Republic of Korea are excluded from the settlement.

Claims

Plaintiffs claim that these 13 airlines (Defendants) and their co-conspirators used alliances, trade associations and other means to fix tickets prices for air travel between the US and Asia, Australia, New Zealand or the Pacific Islands. Thus, the defendants violated antitrust laws. As a result of price-fixing, international air passengers paid more prices for the tickets.

Potential Award

Class Members are eligible to get cash benefits from the settlement on pro-rata basis. The settlement fund will be paid in five different settlement pools:
  1. JALSettlement Class
  2. Air France/Singapore Airlines/Vietnam Airlines Settlement Class
  3. Thai Airways Settlement Class
  4. Malaysian Air Settlement Class
  5. Cathay Pacific Airways/Qantas Settlement Class

How to Claim for Transpacific Airline Settlement?

To get benefits from the settlement, Class members are required to submit a Claim Form before September 19, 2015. If the Court finally approves the Settlements, you will get further extension of 120 days to file your claim after the Settlements become final and effective.
