A federal class action against Cipro is going to resolve between Bayer Corp. and consumers with $74 million settlement fund. All the consumers who have purchased Cipro in the California during the time period of 1997 to 2004 can claim into the Cipro Settlement to get cash refund of $25 or more.
Class members have blamed on Bayer, Barr Laboratories Inc., Hoechst Marion Rousse, Inc., Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. and The Rugby Group Inc. that they have violated antitrust and consumer protection laws. As per the class member’s accuse, manufacturers had fixed to not compete with each other. It leads to Cipro’s lower-cost generic versions to stay out of the market. All manufactures are denied of any wrong doing and Bayer has got agreed to settle its portion of case but all other manufacturers are not agreed to do any kind of settlement.
All individuals who have purchased antibiotic drug Cipro as per prescription in California during the time period of January 8, 1997 to October 31, 2004 are eligible to claim their refund into the settlement. But all the class members lived in California at any time between January 8, 1997 and October 31, 2004 have been paid for all or small part of cost of a Cipro prescription during their living time in California.
