All those who shopped at Target during 27 November to December 18, 2013 using credit or debit card, can file their claim at www.TargetBreachSettlement.com to receive money from a Data Breach Settlement.
Target has agreed to pay $10 million to settle the lawsuit claiming they failed to protect their customers’ personal and financial information from hackers. In December 2013, Target shoppers got a shocking holiday surprise when the news came out the giant retailer has become the victim of a criminal attack online, and about 40 million shoppers’ payment card data has been stolen. The hackers even stole personal sensitive information, such as email id and residential addresses from other Target customers. According to plaintiffs, Target not only failed to protect their customers’ sensitive data, but also delayed in providing notice of the data breach. On the other hand, Target denies any wrongdoing in this whole matter. Still, they have agreed for a Settlement just to avoid the expense and uncertainty of ongoing litigation.
1) You shopped at a Target store using your credit or debit card during the period of 27 November 2013 through 18 December 2013;
2) You gave your contact info to Target at any time prior to 18 December, 2013; or
3) You were issued a new credit or debit card shortly after December 2013 by your bank, Credit Card Company, or other financial institution; and the letter accompanying the new card mentioned that your previous card may have been compromised.
Note: If you’ve received a direct notice about the Target Data Breach, then you’re an eligible Class Member.
If you don't have supporting documents, you may still be eligible for an equal share of the Settlement Fund that’s left out after the payment of documented losses and service payments made to Settlement Class Representatives. That means your payment amount will depend on: (a) number of claims without documentation, (b) Class Representative Service Payment, and (c) total number of valid claims filed.
