Plaintiffs - Kevin Davitt, Scott Carter and Mark Tudyk (from New Jersey, California, and Florida) filed The Honda CR-V class action lawsuit in January 2013, alleging faulty door lock systems. Actuator, a part of the door lock system, was defective in CR-V models from 2007 – 2011. Even, Honda knew about the defect, but obscured this information so they would not have to cover the repair under its 3-year warranty. Plaintiffs complained that the door lock was defective, it could not lock or unlock properly when the door is locked either with the switch inside the vehicle or with the button on the key fob.
