LifeHouse's team of caring professionals takes pride in offering a broad range of services for seniors needing support with activities of every day living. If you or your loved one were a resident of an Assisted Living Facility in California between 2008 and 2013, then you are qualified to claim a cash award from the class action settlement. Plaintiff claimed that Defendants failed to meet California's nurse staffing necessities during the Settlement Class period; however these allegations were denied by Defendants. Then several meditation sessions were carried out, and finally the parties reached a class action settlement.

LifeHouse Assisted Living Settlement

There are a number of California Facilities listed in this case including Bakerfield, Castro Valley, Cypress, Maclay, Parkview, Riverside, San Diego, San Jose and Vista Healthcare Centers. You can even take part if you are considered a Successor Class Member - it means the beneficiary of a resident class member who has died. Moreover, you could be the spouse or domestic partner, the child, parent or sibling, the grandchild or grandparent of the person who dies. Resident Class Members consist of “Current Residents” - the persons who lived in a Facility on the Class Notice Date and “Former Residents.”

If you are considered a class member, then you must send in a claim form for getting the benefits from this case. The amount of the settlement funds is $4,400,000, however amount that you receive will differ, it will be based on the number of days that you lived at the Assisted Living Facility. Calculate the amount - the number of days that you stayed multiplied by an Estimated Violation Rate of 12% multiplied by a Per Violation Amount of $10. For instance - if a Class Member (or his/her predecessor) lived in a listed Facility for 100 days, the payment owed to that Class Member would be $120 (100 days x 12% x $10 = $120).
Current residents of a LifeHouse assisted living facility will automatically get payment if the class action settlement is approved, so they don’t have to submit proof of purchase or submit a Claim Form. Successors of a deceased resident will have to mention the resident’s Social Security Number of Taxpayer Identification Number with a Claim Form.
