Nissan Leaf Settlement for battery capacity

As per the Nissan LEAF Class Action Settlement, class members have claimed that company has been failed to provide service of lithium batteries as per the company’s legal statement about the Nissan leaf. As per the company’s claim; Nissan leaf’s battery works for the lifetime, as it will have 80% remaining capacity after 5 years and 70% remaining capacity after 10 years.

On other hand, class members have argued that battery life is reducing much faster than it is described above. At the end of discussion, company and class members are agreed on settlement that Nissan will extend battery warranty and battery capacity loss of Nissan Leaf up to 60 months or 60,000 miles by requiring Nissan to repair the battery to at least 70 % of total battery capacity of Nissan Leaf. If company fails to repair the battery, then company will replace it with newly manufactured or reconditioned one.

If you have purchased Nissan Leaf car of 2011-2012 model, then you will automatically become a part of the class action unless you select to exclude yourself from the settlement. Company will mail your notice with all the information and refund what you will get from the settlement. 1. So if we object to the proposed settlement we are automatically excluded? Last I knew the settlement was on hold because somebody objected. I was too late and could not get my objections in time. hope they review this settlement again so I can put my 2 cents in. Probably will not get anything. wish they would settle this am waiting on settlement to decide if I am getting a Volt or keeping the Leaf.
